Doctors Attend Orthodontic Conference in Spain

 

The International Association of Orthodontics (IAO) held their Annual Meeting this spring in Sitges, Spain. Dr. Todd Weaver and Dr. John Reckner attended the four-day conference along with two members of the Weaver, Reckner and Reinhart dental assistant team. 

The IAO is a global organization that provides education and support for dentists who practice orthodontics. It is comprised of disciplined dentists who have a passion for delivering high-quality orthodontic treatment to move teeth with a strong base in education and study. The Conference brought together dentists from all over the world to lecture, learn, and make connections with other professionals dedicated to the discipline of straightening teeth. 

“Even though we have been practicing orthodontics for over 20 years, there are always new techniques to learn and take advantage of for our patients,” said Dr. Reckner. “We learned of newer techniques to correct both overbites and underbites in a streamlined system called the Carriere motion appliance. We also heard about the latest possibilities with Clear Correct, the aligner system we currently use for patients who prefer not to wear braces.”

The trip was also filled with opportunities to explore some of the beautiful areas of the city, and share stories and ideas with fellow dental practitioners. “I thoroughly enjoyed expanding my orthodontic education on this trip. Learning about new innovative techniques is really exciting and I can’t wait to adapt it at work,” said Dental Assistant, Laura.
