Weaver, Reckner & Reinhart Dental Associates provides the highest quality dental and orthodontic care for patients of all ages. Serving Bucks and Montgomery counties, children, teens and adults will receive the most comprehensive and advanced orthodontic treatment available.
Orthodontic treatment focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of tooth mis-alignments and jaw irregularities. If teeth are improperly spaced — either too far away or meeting abnormally (malocclusion), correction may be required. With the proper bite, everyday tasks such as chewing, biting and speaking are much easier.
Braces are the primary tools for effective orthodontic treatment. They help to guide the teeth into their proper positions, and retainers act as stabilizers when the braces are removed.
Clear aligners are used in cases when traditional braces aren’t the only option necessary for correcting your smile. Each patient is unique and at Weaver, Reckner & Reinhart we offer a wide range of orthodontic and traditional dental services.
What is the first step in determining if my child needs braces?
Orthodontic problems can be caused by genetics as well as other factors such as thumb sucking. At the age of seven, children will have a pre-orthodontic screening which can often be done at their routine cleaning appointment. Once it has been determined that treatment is necessary we will schedule an appointment with one of our dentists who provide braces to gather measurements, take digital x-rays, impressions and photographs, and discuss the best orthodontic treatment plan.
Sometimes, at this young age they may benefit from a small retainer-like device that helps the jaw grow a little more quickly to make room for adult teeth, to keep them from crowding. Children with a thumb-sucking habit after the age of six can also be helped by orthodontic appliances.
How long is treatment?
Early intervention treatment plans range from six to 15 months, and regular braces range from 18 to 24 months. We see our patients every six weeks for adjustments.
Do you treat adult patients?
It’s never too late to correct teeth alignment! At Weaver, Reckner & Reinhart Dental Associates, we treat orthodontic patients of all ages. While traditional braces are sometimes used in adults, the use of clear aligners and clear braces can make adults feel more comfortable getting the treatment they need.
Before beginning any orthodontic treatment, our dentists will want to make sure there are no other issues or dental problems in your mouth. We would want to ensure your teeth as well as your gums are healthy before starting any treatment. Once you have had a consultation and been given a treatment plan by one of our dentists who provide braces, we can begin the process of transforming your smile.
What are Clear Aligners?
If you want to straighten your teeth without wires and brackets, there are options available as a “clear” way to straighten your teeth. Invisalign® and ClearCorrect™ are the clear and simple alternatives to braces — a series of clear, custom-made, removable aligners that gradually straighten your teeth as you wear them. Ask your doctor for more information on how clear aligners can help you get the smile you’ve always wanted.
How much does it cost?
The cost is spread over the length of treatment time, interest free, and is unique to each patient’s orthodontic treatment plan. We work with patients to make monthly payments affordable.
How do I maintain my smile after the braces are removed?
The last component of most orthodontic treatments is retainers. These appliances prevent teeth from shifting back to their improper positions after the braces are removed.
