WRR Partners with The Bean Bag Food Program in December

This holiday season, WRR is pleased to announce a partnership with The Bean Bag Food Program. This program provides the basic nutrition that children need to focus and be successful in school. One in four students in the Souderton Area School District are faced with food insecurity. During school days, children receive a nutritious breakfast and lunch. On weekends and holiday breaks, food may be scarce or even non -existent. The Bean Bag Food Program strives to provide continuous nutrition by providing identified students with weekend packs filled with breakfast, lunch and snack items. Currently, 200 students in the Souderton Area Elementary Schools and Indian Crest Middle School receive weekend packs. Throughout the month of December, we will be collecting donations in both the Souderton and Harleysville offices.  The food collection list for this year includes: Kraft Macaroni n Cheese Original Dinners, 2.05 oz cups; Nature Valley Protein Bars, Peanut Butter & Dark Chocolate; Quaker Instant Oatmeal Packets – any flavor; Carnation Breakfast Essentials High Protein, Rich Milk Chocolate; Applesauce – Unsweetened, 24 oz plastic jar; Orville Light Butter Microwave Popcorn (other brands can be substituted but must be light butter); Materne 2 % Milk or Parmalat 2% Milk, one quart, non-refrigerated; Peanut Butter – Creamy, 18 oz plastic jar; Fruit Cups 4 oz cups; Pepperidge Farms Goldfish Cheddar Crackers or Pretzels, 6.6 oz bag.

All financial contributions made to the Bean Bag Food Program go towards the purchase of food for the children. A gift of $400 will ensure one child has a good meal seven days a week for the entire school year. Checks may be sent to: Zion Mennonite Church 149 Cherry Lane Souderton Pa 18964 memo: BBFP. WRR Recognizes Oral Cancer Awareness Month

“An oral cancer screening is a quick and painless part of your ordinary dental examination,” says Dr. John Reckner, D.M.D. M.A.G.D. “Although we perform cancer screenings all year long, in April we support OralCancerCause.org, a national foundation that helps patients and their families undergoing treatment for oral cancer.” Throughout the month, the WRR team will be wearing purple ribbons, and educating our patients about the importance of early detection.

WRR Celebrates Children’s Dental Health Month with Hygiene and Doctor Visits to Local Schools

In recognition of Children’s Dental Health Month this past February, hygienists from Weaver, Reckner & Reinhart visited schools in the area to demonstrate proper brushing techniques and promote dental health. Some of the schools that participated included Zwingli Church Preschool in Souderton and Tabor Hill Nursery School in Woxall.

Additionally, Dr. Chris Zeledon visited several elementary schools including Oak Park Elementary School and Penndale Middle School both in Lansdale, and West Broad Elementary School in Souderton to perform dental exams for students. For the past 11 years, WRR has been participating in this program with local schools to support their mission of educating the community on dental health issues and sharing their resources with those who need them.

WRR Delivers Donations to Stephen Klein Wellness Center in Philadelphia

Celebrating the holidays and each another as well as serving those in need was the theme of Weaver Reckner Reinhart Staff Appreciation Day! We met as a group at the Harleysville Office in the morning and packed up our Perkiomen Tour bus (THANK YOU PHIL MOYER… our awesome driver for the day!!!) with the donations we have been collecting over the last few weeks for the Stephen Klein Wellness Center in Philadelphia.

THANK YOU TO ALL OUR PATIENTS AND STAFF WHO DROPPED OFF YOUR WARM CLOTHING ITEMS!!

We delivered them personally to the Center on Friday and received a tour of the 28,000 square-foot Center which is committed to addressing the health and wellness needs of people who are currently homeless, formerly homeless, and people living in the North Philadelphia community. Stephen Klein Wellness Center offers primary medical and dental care, psychiatric services, nurse care management, individual, couples and group counseling, peer-led outreach and care coordination, healing touch, on-site legal counseling, and assistance with applying for health insurance benefits.

Following our tour and donation drop-off at the Stephen Klein Wellness Center, our group headed to Philadelphia for a delicious lunch and celebration. From there, we were able to take in the sights of the city before our final stop at the PhillyPOPS Christmas Show.
