WRR Winter Clothing Drive to Benefit North Philadelphia Dental Clinic

This holiday season, Weaver, Reckner & Reinhart Dental Associates will be collecting warm, winter clothing donations at both of our offices. These donations will be distributed to a dental facility in North Philadelphia whose patients are in need of these items. Boxes have been placed in both offices and we ask if you would like to contribute, please drop off any new or gently used items such as: hats, gloves, scarves, mittens, sweaters, vests, wool socks, fleece blankets, jackets and coats. If anyone would like to donate, please due so by DECEMBER 7 as our office plans to hand deliver these items to the clinic as a part of their office Holiday celebration. WRR Staff Donates Thanksgiving Baskets to Keystone Opportunity Center

Weaver, Reckner & Reinhart Dental Associates staff members packed up 16 bags of Thanksgiving dinner trimmings and other essential items for families in our community. Each year, the office comes together to create beautiful Thanksgiving baskets which are delivered to the Keystone Opportunity Center. Staff Prepares Thanksgiving Bags for Keystone Opportunity Center

For over 13 years, the staff at Weaver, Reckner Reinhart Dental Associates has come together to create beautiful Thanksgiving baskets for families in our community. Message from Dr. Reckner and his family

To our Wonderful Patients and Community of Friends,

Many of you may have heard that Dr. Reckner’s family home was destroyed by fire this past Saturday. Thankfully, no one was injured but because so many from our community have reached out, we wanted to share a message from Dr. Reckner. 

“It has been a fast life-altering 24 hours, but we are all doing very well. Truly all of your well wishes are felt and your offers of assistance are humbling.

To be brief but also keep everyone up to date with accurate information. No one was at home, our dogs included (Willie our barn cat made a run for it), and none of the fire fighters were hurt. The house is completely gone except for our garage and barn, which were bravely defended by so many area fire fighters (we believe 7 companies joined in helping) and our home builders who raced a track-hoe to the scene. When we finally returned home from Cape May, it was all over. We are quite grateful for not witnessing any of the blaze.

The entire family is doing well. We have settled at my in-laws’ house nearby and are comfortable. There is a good, calming feeling, especially for the children, to be with grandparents/parents. Some people only escape a fire with the clothes on their backs, we have a suitcase with shorts and t-shirts!! Kids are already busy getting things ready for school. We are a faith-filled family and know we only lost “stuff”. We continue to thank God for our safety and that of all those involved in the fire. The memories and love we shared in that home continue to live on within us as we replace necessities of daily life.

Continued thoughts and prayers are all we need at this time. We truly appreciate all the offers of assistance, but for now a donation to your local fire department is the best help you could give. The love we feel from my amazing work family, our friends, neighbors, and community keeps us positive and energized as we begin planning to rebuild our home.”

14th Annual Patient Appreciation Movie Night: FINDING DORY

Always a night to look forward to! We appreciate our patients and our annual Patient Appreciation Movie Night is a way to say “Thank You” for putting your trust and confidence in us! We hope you can join us for this fun, family-friendly night! This year we will be back at the Souderton Borough Community Park, 459 Wile Ave, Souderton. Don’t forget to bring your lawn chairs and blankets. In addition to a movie under the stars, enjoy an evening of games, face painting, music, popcorn, water-ice and more! We will once again be collecting donations for the Keystone Opportunity Center. Dr. Weaver and Dr. Reckner Awarded Prestigious Degree

Dr. Todd Weaver and Dr. John Reckner were recently awarded a Masters of the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD), the highest honor that the Academy offers. Both Dr. Weaver and Dr. Reckner have worked for 27 years to accumulate the continuing education credits for a Masters. To be awarded a Masters in the Academy, the dentist must log 1,100 hours of continuing education, 400 hours of which are participation and hands-on courses. The credits include 16 disciplines in dentistry. Only one percent of dentists have received this prestigious degree. From this point forward, both doctors will add the MAGD initials following their signatures. This year’s convocation was held in New Orleans, and both doctors were joined by their families to celebrate their achievement.

Dr. John Reckner and Staff Volunteer at MOM-n-PA Dental Clinic

On Friday, May 18, Dr. John Reckner, and several staff members volunteered at the MOM-n-PA Dental Clinic in Reading, PA. This two-day free dental clinic was open to patients who cannot otherwise afford dental care. Treatment was provided on a first-come, first-serve basis and attracted 874 patients on Friday and over 1,000 patients on Saturday. Last year’s Mom-n-PA dental mission donated $600,798 worth of dental services to the underserved.

Hygienists Visit Local Schools

In recognition of Children’s Dental Health Month, hygienists from Weaver, Reckner & Reinhart visited schools in the area to demonstrate proper brushing techniques and promote dental health. Some of the schools that participated included Deep Run Presbyterian Nursery School, New Friends Nursery School in Harleysville, Salford Hills Elementary, Line Lexington Mennonite Preschool in Hatfield, and Tabor Hill Nursery School in Woxall. For the past 10 years, WRR has been participating in this program with local schools to support their mission of educating the community on dental health issues and sharing their resources with those who need them.

WRR Celebrates Children’s Dental Health Month

Last month, Weaver, Reckner & Reinhart Dental Associates celebrated Children’s Dental Health Month. Throughout the month, colorful posters were hung in both offices featuring fun dental facts and important dental hygiene tips. A contest held for WRR’s youngest patients showcased their best “tooth craft” or coloring masterpiece for a prize. In addition, several of the practice’s hygiene staff visited schools in the area to demonstrate proper brushing techniques and promote dental health.

WRR Dental Team Treats Over 600 Patients in Nicaraguan Dental Mission

The dental team of Weaver, Reckner & Reinhart Dental Associates returned home on January 20 after nine days in Nicaragua as part of a Dental Mission with Hearts, Hands and Smiles Foundation. This is the second year the WRR team, comprised of dental hygienists and dental assistants, and led by Dr. Todd Weaver and Dr. John Reckner, traveled to Nicaragua to lend their time and talent to treat hundreds of patients in need.

Overall, the team completed 889 procedures on over 600 patients. The group began their trip in the Capital City of Managua, where they treated close to 200 children with dental cleanings, restorations and oral surgery at a community center that serves children in education and training. “We were very tired, but very energized, and full of love for the people,” says Dr. Todd Weaver. Other stops included the Masachapa region, a health fair in Villa El Carmen, a Rotary International visit in a local clinic, and a return to  a small mountain village for the second year. For more photos on their trip, visit our Facebook page.
